It's time for Weekend Writing Warriors, the weekend blog tour where authors use 8-10 sentences to promote their new/upcoming work. Some of you might have hoped for a little more from Crimson Sky, since I've left more than a couple cliffhangers over the last few weeks (I will never claim I'm not an evil writer), but right now I want to focus on promoting my upcoming novel, Storm Born. I've teased a little bit at it before, though I don't think I've used this particular snippet. If I have, I'm sorry and will use a new one next week. In this snippet, main character Ava has just been caught in a massive hurricane and is facing down an alien creature known as a Stormkind. But she's not as alone as she thinks she is...
The Stormkind towered over me like some ancient ocean god, its glowing white eyes searing my own retinas. Water cascaded around its featureless body, making the beacons of light in its skeleton shiver.
It reached for me, and I raised my arm uselessly, opening my mouth to scream–
A flash of light seared my vision. It concealed a dark shape that crashed into the ground inches from my feet. I shrieked and scuttled back. My heart couldn’t take much more of this. If I didn’t pass out, I might become one of the only eighteen year olds to die of a heart attack.
The light between me and the Stormkind faded. In its place stood a man.
Who is the crazy guy standing in the middle of a hurricane? Why is he facing down a weather-controlling alien? Is he a friend... or a foe? Well, I know, but you'll just have to tune in next week for more teasers, or better yet, pre-order your copy of Storm Born from the links below!
A single night can change your life… for the worst.
It’s been a century since the last Centennial Storm, the calamitous phenomenon that covered the world in disasters– tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, tsunamis, and dust storms– caused not by nature, but by alien creatures from another realm. The Stormkind.
Ava Reid tries not to think about that night, when she was caught in a hurricane and brought face to face with one of the Stormkind, the man with a dagger, and the agony she felt when he stabbed her with a crystal blade. Yet as she and the rest of Florida’s citizens begin to rebuild their lives, Ava can’t help but notice strange things happening around her. Things she seems to be causing. The gusts of wind and sudden floods attract the attentions of a mysterious stranger who leaves her clues, and the deadlier men following her.
It isn’t long before Ava is swept up into a wild conspiracy, led by a secret society that knows the truth about the Stormkind– and what their enemies have planned for the world she loves. If she wishes to protect her friends and her family, Ava must harness her strange new abilities and become part of the Stormkind society. Because if she loses control, there will be no force strong enough to stop her…
Pre-order it here!
While I'm excited and eager to release Storm Born, that's not the only novel I'm getting ready to promote. You might have heard me gushing about a new cover for another new novel that I've been working for. One that is close to my heart and part of my soul, and already has two books to its name. Yes, ladies and gents, it's time to reveal the cover and synopsis for Damnation's Door, the third and final Cursed novel!
Demons are free. Angels are fallen. Hope is dying...
Constance Ramirez and her adopted sister, Andromeda, have stopped Lucifer’s plan– They have closed the Heaven Gate and kept the demons out. But their choice came with brutal consequences, and now every angel on earth is trapped in their mortal body.
All that remains is closing the Hell Gate and establishing a balance once and for all. That means returning to the city of Constance’s nightmares, which has become a haven for murderers and monsters. But even more dangerous than their hunt is that Andromeda’s powers and instincts are turning darker, and this time Constance doesn’t know how to protect her.
Constance is ready to fight for her life, but her enemies have plans she can’t begin to imagine, and they’re prepared to make her suffer...
Trust is lost and hearts are broken in the epic conclusion in Amy Braun’s Cursed trilogy...
Major, major, major thanks to XPresso Book Tours, Kim from DDD, and all the bloggers who signed up. You guys have no idea how happy this has made me, and how much learning I've taken away from it.
Now is also the time to pre-orders Damnation's Door at any of these online stores!
The print copies should be in next week, along with the rest of my swag. I'm planning lots of giveaways for both books, so be on the lookout for them. I'm still getting used to the idea of owning an entire trilogy of my own. It's pretty damn awesome.
This was a very long post, but I couldn't help myself. Before you go, remember to check out the other Weekend Writing Warriors blogs and leave them some love in the comments. I'm not the only one with release dates coming up!
